A WORD FROM THE PASTOR:

April 2008

God has never sent revival without someone, somewhere asking Him for it.  The priority of the days immediately ahead of us is to make final preparations for the revival services scheduled with Larry Draper the last week of April.  At the heart of those preparations must be prayer.

Prayer encompasses all four of the requirements for revival found in 2 Chronicles 7:14.  To pray there must be humility, one must seek God's face, one must turn from his wicked ways, and obviously, one must actually do it!

Much is taking place in the life of Northside at the current time.  Many good things that need to be done are being done.  But in the busyness of the good things, let's not miss God's best for us.  I exhort you as your Pastor to make your personal preparations for revival a priority in your life so that you do not miss God's best and so that we as a church do not miss God's best.

Again, at the heart of those preparation must be prayer. with that in mind, a number of deacons and their wives will host cottage prayer meetings designed to bring us together in small groups to pray specifically for revival services.  Though you are invited to attend as many of the prayer meetings as your schedule will allow, the desire is to have every member of Northside attend at least one prayer meeting prior to the  revival services.  As of this printing, the following cottage prayer meetings have been schedule for 6:30 p.m.:

Monday, April 14 at the home of Doug & Sandra Miller

Tuesday, April 15 at the home of Charles & Betty Heaton

Thursday, April 17 at the home of Coy & Marcey Laseter

Monday, April 21 at the home of Carlton & Mary Ellen Smith

Tuesday, April 22 at the home of Robert & Frances Harris

Thursday, April 24 at the home of Mike & Wanda Edge

In addition, Shirley Jo and I will host a prayer meeting Tuesday, April 22, at 8:30 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall.

Finally, an all-day prayer vigil has been scheduled from 6:00 a.m. to  6:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 26.  That day will conclude with a church-wide prayer meeting at 6:30 p.m.

May I say it again?  God has never sent revival without someone, somewhere asking Him for it.  Will you be that someone who will asks God for revival?  Remember, it's not about me; it's not about you, but it's all about Him. I pray that God's name will be glorified among us as He does what only He can do in revival.

  Brother Dennis
